Today marks a year for the Put A Fork In It blog. What have we learned? What do we wish we hadn't learned? And what does the future hold? Let's find out:
What I've learned:
1. It is not necessary to follow the recipe directions exactly.
2. It's all about the bird.
3. My followers don't LOVE contests.
4. My followers DO love cupcakes.
5. The posts I'm most unhappy with end up getting the most comments.
6. I use cheese in almost every single recipe. Required, or not.
7. If hungry enough, my husband WILL tell me what he's hungry FOR.
I wish I hadn't learned:
1. What Pate tastes like.
2. That I'm an extreme procrastinator and will stay up until midnight just to finish a contest blog post.
3. That my post got put up too early for a contest and I missed the entire challenge that was supposed to be done the next day.
What does the future hold:
1. More posts about my adventures in food.
2. Better photos.
3. Even more cow shaped food.
4. More feedback from YOU! (I hope?)
So, Put A Fork In It followers - yeah, that's you. Tell me what you liked best, didn't like so much and what you'd like to see more of. I'm not just doing this for me. Well, mostly.

Congrats on 1 year!! I love "cooking" vicariously through you & the blog, and have enjoyed trying some new recipes from your collection, too. Keep up the great work. ---- JJ
October 27, 2010 at 8:06 PMWow, 1 year already! You've taught me what blogging truly is, following a passion and showing it so clearly with photos and amazing writing. The recipes are amazing, wouldn't know about the pate because I don't want to know anything more than I already do about pate! You inspire me to do something like this, but instead I just read your and cook/bake your recipes...keep doing what you're doing, Alise! Congrats!
